Solar Eclipse

Pike Road Schools is excited about the upcoming solar eclipse next week. We want to share some information with you regarding the afternoon of the eclipse.

The eclipse will happen Monday, April 8th, beginning at 12:40, peaking around 2:00 pm, and ending at 3:17 pm. If your child is in a class that has obtained approved safety eyewear and permission from their school principal, they will be permitted to go outside to observe the eclipse with their class. All classes and learners without approved safety glasses will not be able to participate in the approved viewing activities. Some students may go outside to change classes during the eclipse.

Please advise your child to follow all safety precautions during the eclipse times. It is never safe to look towards the sun during an eclipse without approved safety eyewear.

All schools will dismiss at their regular time.
